It took one week to receive the three hauls we ordered from SHEIN, despite it estimating our delivery would take 9 to 11 days, it took just seven.
Our experience of SHEIN’s shipping and delivery was:
- QUICK: SHEIN estimates shipping time based on your location, it quoted us 9 to 11 days but all three orders actually arrived in seven.
- EASY TO TRACK: SHEIN offers detailed order tracking, providing both local courier numbers and an in-app tracking hub.
- FREE: All orders over $29 qualify for free standard shipping. Costs for express shipping vary by country.
SHEIN shipping presented little-to-no surprises—delivery tracking and shipping cost were straightforward, but it doesn’t ship to all countries and getting a refund for a broken item was a headache.
To evaluate SHEIN’s shipping, we considered delivery speed, cost, tracking capabilities and communication/updates.
SHEIN’s Shipping and Delivery: A Breakdown

SHEIN’s shipping was quick, easy, and drama-free. While one of our glass items did arrive broken, we’re willing to give it a pass on that.

SHEIN’s Shipping Time: Our Experience
SHEIN doesn’t officially commit to a time frame for delivery but “estimates” shipping time according to where you live.
However, they do provide specific delivery time percentages. At the time of publication, 77.13% of standard shipping orders were delivered in less than 10 days. This percentage can be further broken down as follows:
- 26.26% took 4 to 7 days.
- 49.76% took right to 10 days.
- 18.07% took 11 to 13 days.
- 5.91% took more than 13 days.
Our orders were estimated to take 9 to 11 days but all arrived within a week.
SHEIN has an ‘On-Time Delivery Guarantee’ which entitles you to receive 500 SHEIN points (equivalent to $5 store credit) if your order doesn’t arrive by the expected date.
Although we received our orders in seven days—two days earlier than SHEIN had estimated—it’s not as speedy as other retailers, so it loses marks for that.
Where does SHEIN ship from?
SHEIN doesn’t clearly indicate its shipping origins, and our packages lacked this detail.
When we inquired with its customer service chatbot, we were informed, “SHEIN operates multiple international warehouses across Asia, America, Europe, and the Middle East.”
If you need something fast, look for the ‘quickship‘ tag on items. It means they “may be available to be shipped from a warehouse located in the United States”, so you can potentially get your delivery within three to seven business days, according to SHEIN.
We intentionally ordered three glass candle holders to see how they fared being shipped from overseas.

SHEIN’s Shipping Cost
Currently, SHEIN provides free standard shipping for orders exceeding $29.
Express shipping costs vary by country, check SHEIN for details.
It seems quite steep in comparison to its biggest competitor, Temu, which also offers lower prices on comparable goods.
However, with a discount code, it’s still incredibly cheap compared to most similar retailers including Amazon, Walmart and AliExpress.
SHEIN’s Order Tracking
All of our SHEIN orders came with tracking, including a local courier tracking number and in-app tracking updates.
We found SHEIN made tracking orders easy. Clicking on “Track Order Details” in our confirmation email directed us to the “My Orders” section of SHEIN. There, a “Track” button provides key shipping details such as tracking number, estimated delivery time and current status.
SHEIN orders go through several stages from order to delivery, including:
- Order Placed
- Shipped
- In transit
- In dispatch
- Waiting to be picked up
- Delivered
Our experience of SHEIN’s order shipping and tracking was smooth, a stark contrast to its customer service.
In our multiple interactions with SHEIN support, we rarely got through to a human. Instead, we found ourselves directed back to SHEIN’s FAQ section by automated responses, unhelpful if your questions aren’t listed.
SHEIN’s Communication: Updates From Order to Delivery
We received shipping confirmation emails with tracking numbers a day after placing our orders and a delivery confirmation email and SMS. That was it. Two emails. One SMS.
While SHEIN’s customer service leaves room for improvement, we loved the silence that fell on our inbox after we made an order.

Lost, damaged and delayed shipments from SHEIN
Although none of our orders were lost and actually arrived ahead of schedule, we did receive one broken item—a smashed glass candle holder.
As we’d received a full refund without a return from Temu after receiving a damaged parcel, we were interested to see how SHEIN would handle a similar situation.
It wasn’t as generous as Temu.
SHEIN’s customer service required a photo of the shattered candle holder before granting a refund and also expected us to return the damaged item.
